Organic hemp production
Nowadays, Hmong People still persistently maintain their tradition of hemp growing and manually weaving. Fabric woven from hemp is nicely long-wearing. From hemp tree to traditional costumes of Hmong people is an interesting journey. Harvesting hemp after about 4 months, Hmong people shall directly expose hemp to sun, then separate fiber from cover of hemp. After that, it is a meticulous section of connecting fiber. After that, they wrap finished fiber into a roll, the rolls are soaked in ash and boiling water, which acts as a natural bleaching-agent, then crushed by foot-mill to produce a shiny and smooth finish. The complete textile is then woven manually on a wooden and bamboo loom.
